Greetings all! Haven't posted in a bit, but I thought I start with throwing out a house rule I'm considering, and have you all chomp down on it for size. With all the new feats that have been introduced since the release of 3E, it has become evident to myself and others I've played with, that the number of feats the average character recieves pales in comparison to their options. With our style of play, character attributes and skills are more important to the roleplaying and fun of the game, than hunting for some magic item. As such, I've revised the standard rate at which characters recieve feats. To begin, all characters recieve two feats for 1st level instead of one. (Yes, humans still gain another feat on top of this one, as do fighters and wizards.) However, one of these feats is restricted to "trait" feats. (Specialized list... think ancestrial feats from OA. Feats that one might have from birth like Amberdex. or Alertness.) From there, all characters recieve additional feats at levels: 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17 & 20. Overall, all characters would recieve 3 more feats over the course of 20 levels. Only one of which is restricted. Not meant to be a power gamer change. Again, you'd have to play our games, but gear comes and goes quite frequently, and magic items and gold are not common in the slightest. (One game had party of five, 9th level characters who had stubbled across a total of maybe 12 magic items... most potions.) Anyone else out there do anything like this?
