RttToEE was the motivation for me to get back on the Internet and involved with on-line discussions, etc. Without it, I would never have joined Monte's site and migrated here. I've been a huge contributor to the RttToEE forum. That also explains my custom title. ;) I'd be fine with not allowing sheathing a weapon as a free action (as part of a move, don't forget that caveat), but then you shouldn't allow it for shields. Being trained in weapons myself, I'm confident that sheathing a weapon is not any more difficult than putting a shield on your back. Primarily, it was the elder earth elemental and a main bad guy in RttToEE. As for provoking an AoO with a reach weapon, I disagree. I actually favor the FAQ (or is it RotG) interpretation on that issue. Thanks for reminding me as I will include it. Yes, it makes reach more powerful, but IME not overly so. And believe me I use a lot of high level monsters, big ones too. At least, it's not unbalanced in my games. I think one reason is that IMO most monsters with reach will try to get closer to keep their opponents from easily stepping back out of harm's way. Thus, reach-based-disarming is rarely, if ever done. If it is done, then the downside is that your opponent can step back and do something else. The sunder issue we agreed as a group, unanimous decision. I personally dislike the idea of attacking your opponent's weapon. I think that in real combat, it would be a stupid decision in almost every case except for specific weapons that are easy to smash, like long, thin sticks. Who in their right mind attacks a longsword? I don't like it, so making it a standard action solves my "problem". Sunder if you want, but you will probably only do it on a weapon that can easily be destroyed in one shot. That very closely mirrors what I think would happen in a real combat. You don't waste a lot of time attacking your opponent's weapon. Thanks again, everyone. I appreciate the feedback. I will try to incorporate my responses on the webpage. :)
