Message: <blockquote data-quote="Nate Jones" data-source="post: 3487235" data-attributes="member: 41976">Use the money to buy a select few books that you will be using in the immediate future.  Switch campaign settings from what you've done previously, switch to a 3rd Party publisher, switch gaming rules even!  But I wouldn't suggest buying everything out on the market; there just isn't the time to read it all!  Choose what the focus of your next campaign will be, buy whatever you need to live out that focus, and stick to that.  Assuming you've still got plenty of cash left (And that you either don't have anything else non-gaming related to spend it on, or you already have that taken in to consideration), use the remaining funds to totally trick out your gaming environment.  If you play at your home and have a spare room (Or maybe a backyard big enough to build a gaming shed), make or pay someone to make a deluxe gaming table (Somebody once posted some images of a pretty sweet one they created somewhere on these forums), install surround sound speaker and a quality overhead projector, invest in a quality laptop, splurge on miniatures (Or not, depending on your mini preference), set aside food and drink money for every session in the year to come, buy some thematic music, install custom lighting, purchase those expensive but helpful gaming accessories (initiative tracker, campaign planner etc.) and anything else that may aid your play experience.  Instead of focusing on getting *every* book, focus on maximizing your gaming experience.  Rarely is a book used in entirety, and with a stack of 30 or more, most of them won't see use at all - but enhancing your game comes into play each and every session.  Make this your priority.With all that being said, however, I'm going to second what another poster said - "Before spending hundreds of dollars on luxury items, Look at your current financial state. Unless you own a home already, start working on one of those."  I know you said you are currently financially stable, but what are your plans for the future?  You never specified an age, nor a profession, but do you plan on pursing further education?  A full-time career?  Your own home?  Depending on the size of your inheritance, it may be wise to set some of it towards these goals.  Also depending on the size, you might want to consider investing some of it.  Consider too how big of a priority gaming is in your life, and how much emphasis you plan to put on it in the future.  Maybe there's something else important you've wanted to do, but never have had the means to accomplish it.  In any case, buy the top two or three books on your list, read them, and then decide where to go from there.  Maybe you do want to fill out your library, maybe not, but buying everything all at once doesn't really do you much good.  And plus, waiting gives you more time to gather opinions - or perhaps even reevaluated where you want your funds to go.</blockquote>
