there is no hard and fast rule on this:
you can
A do what hong said keep teh same init
B treat an unconcious character as Delayed until they can take an action
C treat them as leaving combat and then when they regain conciousness as entering combat ( they go at the top of their init)

i usually use the same init, there are times when i treat characters as delayed
 


I like to have the player now take the initiative right after the person who brought you back up, or to the end of the list after that round. Keeping the old is the simplier though, and I have no problem with making the player wait until his original initiative comes up.
 

I'd think officialy they'd keep the same initiative. For one thing if they are in the negatives, we roll to see if they stabalize. And if they don't stabalize, they lose a hit point on their turn.
