A character with an 8 Int when measured up against one with an 11 is mechanically identical to comparing a 9 v 10. So why not use the +/- modifiers to mark standard deviation instead? I assume it doesn't scale as well, but I was curious. Personally I don't put that much effort into it either way, I just can't be bothered. But everyone has fun with different aspects of the game, so if that's your thing the more power to you. Anyway, carry on, I just had to ask the one question...
