This brings up a third possibility, which is that her problem is actually the bgeinning stages of an Oracle's Curse, specifically the curse of Tongues- she might be destined for something like a Divine version of the old 3.5 Ultimate Magus prestige class from Complete Mage. Of course, you'll have to work that out with the player if this interests you.Another way to use it for adventures is to ignore the "source and reason" angle completely, and just arrange circumstances in game such that she has an outburst at precisely the right (or wrong) time to attract attention from somebody powerful. Could be pretty unfortunate if she badmouths a king, for example: "What?!? How dare you! ...Well, I suppose I could overlook it if you go fetch for me the Mystic MacFoozle that is said to be in the dungeon underneath Swamp Castle." Or, maybe she insults a thief guildmaster, who happens to like that sort of thing, and ends up pursuing her as his True Love (works if she returns the affection, but probably works even better if his affections are unwanted since he then becomes comic relief or a stalker depending on how you want to play it).There are all kinds of things you can do with a condition like that.
