It is a new campaign setting, but has a progressing timeline. The idea is that multiple parties can adventure in the same world, which is an old concept (Living X). But the project lets you game just as you always do, with a normal party. The DM isn't bound to running just pre-built "official" adventures. And individual campaigns can impact the progressive timeline of the world.
