Talking to people in chat and reading the message boards I was really taken back. I have been getting very cynical about how the Internet is turning out. It seemed that large corporations and other commercial interests were taking over. I was not seeing much chance for "community sponsored" sites and services surviving. I see tremendous value in sites such as enworld. It is obvious now that a great many users of enworld also see value and are willing to contribute time and money to see it stay. It is this kind of spirit that promises to make the Internet one if not the greatest of the 7 wonders of the modern world. I wouldn't want to even be on the Internet were it not for such communities.We are a very small ISP (literally a Mom and Pop operation) that can't afford put forth large amounts of time and money to support things that don't help pay the bills. We could have afforded to be more lax if we hadn't been going through such rough times ourselves (the whole Edison Telephone, Hosting Network thing). We would have had an impossible time surviving if it weren't for the help of friends. I would like to extend what ever help I can give to help the site stay on-line. You mentioned a server upgrade. I would like to offer to perform the needed work free of charge and pass on the only the cost of hardware.
