So, I'm trying to think of interesting things I could post online to entertain my fellow gamers and, well, get more people to swing by this here site. I've got a couple of pet ideas, and I'd like to know what you folks would be interested in:
Anything here interest you?
- Expanded Storyhour: Everyone likes storyhours, but they're just the VHS copies you make of the movies that network TV plays. People love DVDs, with all their extra special features. I was considering posting . . . well, maybe a storyhour of my game, or maybe a pure piece of adventure fantasy fiction, with new game materials provided with each installment. I'd have an artist illustrate the story, and give it regular updates, like once every two weeks.
What sorts of special features would you like to see, and would you take a look at a piece of serialized fiction, to see if you like it? I know Dragon's fiction doesn't get read by everybody, but since it'd be a sort of 'ENWorld Community' thing, would you give it a try?
- Character Gallery: Every week, people could post descriptions of their characters, and we'd pick one as the winner. The winning character would be illustrated by an artist, and we'd cycle through professional artists, freelancers, and amateurs. We'd have a gallery devoted just to these characters, complete with character stats and background. It's fun for the player who wins, publicity for artists, and a useful resource for game masters who want interesting NPCs.
- Paladin Training: The new Petz feature (see the menu above) is pretty much like Pokemon, and paladins have mounts who get summoned like Pokemon, so we can consider the Petz feature to be like paladin training. I'm not quite sure what to do with this, but there could be some fun role-play-esque aspects involved.
