Interstellar Mercenary (I.S.M.) is a savage sci-fi/fantasy TTRPG set on a low-tech distant world, with scavenged advanced alien technology, and powerful cerebral warriors who bend minds and break bones.
Players are an elite team of skilled mercenaries, hired killers and specialists, in the service of a besieged empire, completing high-risk high-reward missions to turn the tide of war. To further complicate matters each mercenary has a hidden objective which may ultimately bring down the Empire they were enlisted to protect, or their fellow mercenary.
I.S.M. uses a d20 system that has been played and tested for the last 30 years; built from the ground up to create the most fun and dynamic action set pieces and technical close combat with minimal referencing and player downtime.
Grounded in realism, the infiltrations, negotiations and combat engagements are as tactical and brutal as they are tense and exciting. Edge-of-your-seat action that encourages creative decisions, player interaction, big combos, and team play with clear player goals and fast character progression.
