[QUOTE="DarkCrisis, post: 9365385, member: 1788"] I've been wanting to run BX/Basic for a long time but I figured that wouldn't float to well with the group well meh its my time and I mentioned it and they mostly seemed fine with it. We are using Labyrinth Lord ATM. Anywho. 8 Players/characters. Most of us are 40+ with three 3 20 something, an 8 year old and one 18 year old. Stacy the Thief "I can't be a dwarf thief?" Skeletor the Magic User "Yeah, his name is Skeletor." Lavador the Magic User "Not Labrador." Todd the Cleric "That's Saint Todd." Lord Farquaad the Fighter "I like Shrek." Nordman the Fighter "I'm Nordic." Aileen the Elf "My Cha is 5." Flik the Halfling "A short bow for a short man." Can you guess which one is the 8 year old? I bet you guess wrong. The King has decided to push into the Frontier in a grasp for more land and resources. After a bloody war with the forces of Chaos a Keep was established on the Borderlands. Heroes of all stripes have flocked there to seek fame and fortune and of course power. Our heroes met on the road to the Keep and eventually got rooms at the Inn and while having a meal at the tavern overheard various rumors. "There is more than just rats and snakes in the sewers under the keep. I've seen robed men disappearing down into the manholes." "I hear the Keep Guard are offering a silver piece an ear for goblin and kobold ears. There are some caves nearby full of the little buggers!" "Some adventures say they have found what appears to be an ancient prison. What horrors might be in it's depths after all these years under Chaos sway?" After discussing what they have heard the group decides to visit the sewers in the morning. They head to the closest Manhole, pop it open with a crowbar and head on down into the stink and filth. Search around to the West they find a door barred from the other side. They figure it probably leads into the tavern basement and decide to leave it be. Heading back East and North they eventually find a manhole up. So far this trip has been nothing but common vermin and horrible stenches. Farquaad decides to see where they are at street level and pops up next to the inner gate where a couple of guards take notice. "Oi! What are you doing??!!!" Farquaad quickly drops back down and shoves the others to run. This causes a scramble that ends up knocking Lavador and Nordman in the sewage. As the party stops to hoist thier poo covered friends out of the muck the 2 guards arrive with crossbows ready. "What all this then?!?!?!" Farquaad steps up and tries to explain that they are seeking to rid the sewers of any threats. He seems well meaning enough and they figure 2 of them covered in the worst sewage to be imagined is punishment enough and let them go. "Go back up the the street and stay out of the sewers! And you 2 get a bath you stink something awful!" After a bath and some lunch the group decide to head to the local goblin/kobald caves to see about earning of that sweet ear money (and rid the world of chaotic vermin). They pack up and head down the road and skirt the forest for a few miles before heading into the woods toward the caves. They enter a clearing and are assaulted by Giant Bees! The Bees swoop into attack and while they do some damage no one is killed but the bees, though Farquaad is down to a mere 3HP after getting some healing from the Cleric who spent his one cure spell for the day. Skeletor also burnt his one spell for the day, using Magic Missile to take down a Bee. Some XP but no treasure! First fight of their adventuring careers went well enough but they are wounded. Will they continue on? Or is it better to go back to the Keep and rest and try again tomorrow?
