In my game I have a rogue/sorcerer arcane trickster (17th Level). He recently slew his rival, and among other things managed to save an advanced Invisible Stalker from the wizards domination.
In my campaign Invisible Stalkers are a highly intelligent race of quasi-lighning elementals, with an outlook on life much like elves, but native to the elemental plane of air. Their default alignment is Chaotic Good. Summoning one to do your bidding is usually considered bad karma, as they are generally magically compelled to kill.
The stalker feels devoted to the trickster for freeing him, and has vowed to protect him untill he feels he has repayed his debt.
The kicker is that the last order the Invisible Stalker was ordered, was to slay the family of said Arcane Trickster. That compulsion still has effect, and he will attempt to slay them. He had also previously been ordered to never speak of his orders.....so he can't just up and warn the trickster.
The Trickster has leadership, but untill this point has only been using it for the followers (His theives guild). This could make for an interesting cohort, but I'm weary about the strength of the stalker. An always improved invisible creature with 100+ hp and 30+ armor class. It would make for some very interesting events in the plotline later on, if they ever get close to home.
