[QUOTE="Ruin Explorer, post: 9441998, member: 18"] I thought it only had character creation at the moment? Certainly looking on Steam it shows only character creation is currently available. They seem to actually be finishing and releasing the game, so maybe? The real issue that Sims-type games have had is that they keep like, not actually releasing. And it's funny because both Sims 3 and Sims 4 released in truly dreadful condition, with huge chunks of the game missing - and I don't mean DLC, stuff you'd expect would be in - but, for example, Paradox cancelled their Sims-type game, basically after it was, compared to Sims 3/4's release states, absolutely releasable (this is part of a pattern of terrible decisions Paradox have been making for the last two years - like they finally got me to stop buying every DLC for Stellaris by totally unnecessarily using AI art - they didn't even put more art in! The DLC which has it is just as art-sparse as the rest!). So the key to "taking on" the Sims is releasing an actual game, frankly, and inZOI looks like it will actually release, especially as it's primarily targeting the Korean market. The Sims is a classic example of underinvestment due to complacency (and sexism), so is frankly ripe to be beaten. EA keeps a relatively small team on it, and as a result, it's developed incredibly slowly. I say underinvestment because it's a huge cash cow for EA - if they'd treated the same way as games making even half the money it does, it'd unbeatable, but because it's "for women/girls", it's clearly not taken seriously by EA's leadership. Features (again, not DLC, basic stuff about how the game works) which should have been in Sims 4 on release 10 years ago only arrived last year or the year before. Hell, EA might have cancelled Sims 5 despite Project Rene, or perhaps because of the results of it, and instead be just intending to milk Sims 4 (which having played it recently, really, really, really feels like a game from 10+ years ago - it felt slightly dated in 2014, and that has not improved). Anyway, point is, the more competition the better, and honestly inZOI seems like it has more money behind it than EA is willing to put into the Sims series, despite the megabux it makes them.
