Hey there. Welcome back, Mr Draco! Do you want to speak for a good people? Or a neutral people? Or an evil people? Zelda, your English will never receive any criticism out of me (nor out of anyone else with any decency on this board.) The IR is not a game, per se. If it were, I'd be posting this over in the Gaming section of this board (it might end up in the In Character section, though.) The IR is a what if scenario. I post a single question, or statement, then ask everyone how they'd respond to it In Character (just assume, for this purpose, that you have a character - any character! - and respond as you think that hypothetical character would react) In mid February, I will post this question (actually, it will be an In Character rant from someone called The Wanderer), and you can then react to my post! (grin) In the other IRs, the reactions of the others, and my respond to their reactions, created an impromtu story. It was a totally messed up story, ludicrious and ridiculous, we totally wrecked the world of Toril (the Forgotten Realms campaign setting), but we had a lot of fun doing it. It was madcap mayhem. For some people, that was great (and for some, it was very annoying ... either way, I couldn't do a thing about it ... people post as they please, not when I tell them to!) Once the thread had built up momentum, it took off like a rocket (100 posts in 24 hours, then 200 more in the next 12 hours), had a brief, glorious hey-day, then settled down (everyone was tired.) It puttered on weakly for a while after that, then stopped. I created a second thread, that started with - not a question or a rant - but an In Character threat from the Chosen of Mystra (it was a trick: they threatened simply to get everyone to assemble; they did not have the power to carry out their thread), and then a massive peace conference broke out. It broke out, and they argued, and they debated philosophy, and people representing every conceivable faction (even the Angels, Fiends, Slaadi, and Sigilians!) came to the table, to have a long and furious debate over how to create a lasting peace (not so easy to do, when it's illithid, human, drow, aboleth, etc., all sitting at the table.) Then it broke up, and the war started again In Character, more furious than ever. Somehow, they avoided blowing up all of Toril (and all of Realmspace), and incredibly they created a lasting peace. Now, some of these people, armed with high technology and high magic (or high technomancy) have gone over to Oerth, a completely NEW world, and have decided they know better how to run Oerth than it's people do. And they are interfering directly in the events on Oerth, fostering Technomancy in secret on that world. But the Wanderer knows of them, and he's about to spill the beans (give the secret out) to every person on the planet. In spades. In glorious technicolor detail through telepathic sight and sound, but it will be HIS version of the events that took place on Toril, and he hates and fears them all (in other words, it will be the worst kind of propaganda.) Of course, the nations and peoples of Oerth all hate each other as it is, and most are plotting war against each other with their medieval weapons and their magic anyways, and a few are planning devilish surprises ... and the Torilians are adding more than their share to the dangerous situation. How will it end? Well ... on Toril, the Elves of Evermeet joined with the Humanoids, and the two became welded into one people (the eldest daughter of Queen Amlaruil joyously became the concubine of the Humanoid King ... if you do not believe me, ask Forrester.) And the race of mind flayers on Toril became good aligned, stopped eating brains, and became wise and respected mentors of the great universities of the United Commonwealth of Toril. So yes, come on in, and enjoy yourself. If you wish, I can pick you out a small nation, and you can be the King or Queen of it, and speak for them. Tis up to you!
