The elves reject this offer | Vernaith and Celene ally covertly The drow embassy to Celene enters the court of the elf queen Yolande. Surrounded by a ring of elven warriors, with invisible mages floating overhead in a silent escort, the procession arrives at the hall of the Queen. Standing before her throne, the drow ask for peace, an alliance between the drow and the surface elves. Murmurs break out in the court, washing through the throng of gathered courtiers, warriors, and diplomats. One of the invisible court wizards alights before the throne and tells the queen that, despite the fact that they have removed any and all magical items from the hands of the drow, they still detect as good. The crowd shies back from the throne as the queen scowls, aborting her quiet discussion with the red clothed elf next to her. Another court wizard casts a spell, raising her voice beyond mortal limits. “This is a trick of our enemies. The nation of Celene - the olves of Celene! - Will not consort with other powers, and never,” she says, holding up one finger for emphasis “with our dark brethren. We will never beg for the help of any nation, nor accept the same despicable weakness from others. Remove this foul matter from our court.” As one, the crowd of elves before the queen begin to clap and jeer as the drow are forced out of the court by their escorts. The queen smiles diplomatically, coldly, at her people. Then she turns to the elf next to her, an elf who wears a pale red glove on a single one of his two hands. In a quiet voice, her magically enhanced volume dispelled, she returns to a whispered conversation “Vernaith has agreed to act in concert with us then?” “It has, your majesty.” The elf replies, his voice also quiet. “It seems a shame we must unite with a nation that consorts with the lower peoples, vermin all.” “They are already second class citizens in Vernaith, your Majesty. And with our aid and counsel, they will not remain part of Vernaith for long. Your diplomats and I will see to that.” “Of course.” Down in the crowd, a well-built elf in burnished armor stays silent, despite the clapping that still continues about him. The attempt to rescue the drow from wherever they are taken would take place this very night. He turns to leave, striding from the court; the symbol on his cloak reveals itself. The Emblem of Luna. . . . . . . . . . . OOC: Unless Edena states otherwise, the Knights of Luna extract the drow ambassadors from under the eyes of Celene that night. After interrogating the dark elves (who I assume are naturally good inclined, and were somehow convinced to bring an offer of peace to the elves of Celene), the Knights send their own delegation to the drow, requesting an audience between the drow leaders and the prince of Celene on a matter of some import (Over to you, Kalanyr. I think the Luna delegation is in trouble!). Vernaith also refuses the drow elves, although in a more diplomatic fashion.
