The challenge rating of the glabrezu was also better for a party at levels 7-8: too high for direct combat, but too low to trivially crush the party as collateral damage. Finally, the Maurezhi are more about eating than about cooking. Also, the Maurezhi aren't particularly intelligent--it would be more hard pressed for one to maintain the focus over five thousand years to eventually escape. I felt that for all the above reasons, the glabrezu was the best fit for the adventure.</blockquote>
