IronNPC is a new concept in Iron! It shifts the paradigm into overdrive!!! It works like IronDM(tm), but instead of crafting an adventure worthy of play, contestants will craft NPCs who could be dropped into a campaign. Like IronDM(tm), contestants in IronNPC will receive a list of six magically determined ingredients, around which they must craft their NPC. IronNPC will have additional restrictions, though: 1) I will provide four specific levels (ECLs). Contestants will provide four stat blocks, one for each level (ECL), and a story linking the four stat blocks into a coherent and compelling history. 2) I will provide constraints on the NPC race. These will differ for each match. An example of a simple constraint would be "Human"; a more liberal constraint would be "Fey"; and a very liberal constraint would be "Small Size" or "ECL <= +2". 3) Finally, I will conjure six ingredients. 4) Contestants will have 48 hours to craft NPCs, complete with stat blocks and compelling life stories. This is longer than the time allowed for IronDM(tm) because of the requirement of statblocks. Statblocks can be a pain in the neck to make, but they're vital if you want to drop an NPC into a campaign quickly. Those are the rules. I'll take eight contestants: 1) mythago 2) Wippit Guud 3) Torx 4) Greybar 5) Ray Silver 6) the Ruined One 7) Malin Genie 8) Rune Alternates: 9) Stalker0 10) Drunken Master Round 1: - Match 1: Malin Genie vs. Ray Silver -> Ray Silver - Match 2: Torx vs. theRuinedOne -> theRuinedOne - Match 3: Greybar vs. Wippit Guud -> Greybar - Match 4: mythago vs. Rune -> forfeit! :( - Match 5: Stalker0 vs. Drunken Master --> Drunken Master Round 2: - Match 1: Ray Silver vs. the Ruined One --> Ray Silver - Match 2: Greybar vs. Drunken Master --> Drunken Master FINAL ROUND: - Ray Silver vs. Drunken Master --> Ray Silver!
