Forward Unto Darkness Part II The night air was filled with the smell of the sea and coal smoke. Wherever Canter was taking them, there were factories that were working around the clock. Navigating through the streets and alleyways of the Warehouse District, Canter led the party to a large building that could only be described as abandoned. The moonlight illuminated a large “K” painted on the front along with some missing letters. Canter turned to the party and said, “Here we are. Mind your step.” Canter walked up to a boarded up window and pulled three boards out. He slid through the boards into the dark building beyond. The rest of the party followed his lead and squeezed through the opening. The darkness within was almost impenetrable and only Punt could make out the details of the broken machinery that littered the floor. It was when Punt started to move further into the building that they realized that Canter was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Punt felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder. A small dart had struck him from somewhere in the darkness. He caught a glimpse of two figures moving closer to him just as he heard Caltros yell that he was under attack. The darkness had made the figures appear as if out of thin air. The party split up and fought their attackers. The attackers were bogrin (or black gobbers) and had surrounded the party. Kariff and Sigurd fought side-by-side and within a matter of moments had dropped one of the attackers. Punt made a few arcane gestures and two other attackers dropped to the floor, asleep. It was then that they heard a voice coming from somewhere ahead of them. “Good show! Good show! I dare say that you have accounted for yourselves very well. Come! Let us talk and discuss matters to our mutual benefit.” Ahead, in the gloom, the party could just make out a figure standing atop a broken piece of machinery. The figure was the same size as their attackers and seemed to be gesturing for them to follow him. The party cautiously walked up to the figure. All of them, that is, except for Punt. Punt snuck around to the other side of the building and while the party was walking towards the figure, he snuck up to the two figures that were asleep and quickly dispatched them with his dagger. He then quickly searched the bodies for any valuables before he approached the rest of the party and the figure. “I am Lord Orim and it was I that sent Canter to bring you to me. If you would hear me out, perhaps we can come to an arrangement that would be mutually beneficial. But first, you’ll have to put on these blindfolds…”
