His clothes often hide the weak appearance, garments of only the most fancy of silks, and extravagant of colors and near gaudy of hats; a peacock would blush at his normal ensemble. He always has his cloak of prismatic colors, wyvern-leather boots (Tanned a proper orange), rings on every finger, and so on.</p><p></p><p>Zaquin Shimmerspear's life began with magic. His mother used her arts to encourage vitality, intelligence and character in her infant. Though he was born a frail child, the touch of arcane heritage was clear from the start.</p><p></p><p>He went into the city a young man, and there saw his magics had a real talent. People would pay good money to have him modify them with his magic. Dock workers, street toughs, town guards, they all loved to get a well placed Bull Strength, making their muscles bulge, or an Enlarge, and work harder. He made friends quick within the city, whenever doling out his spells; the Guards greeted him with shining faces when he would lace their weapons with temporary power. Those who would offer money would eagerly pay for a brief moment of Emotion for the moment of starry pleasure (a large win with the Nobles and rich merchants of the city), or Invisibility to play their pranks. Sometimes, he would have them pull him about in his 'Chariot', a rickshaw picked up after a visit to a far off village. But more often then not, a summoned creature will be pulling him around through the streets, drawing even more attention to him.</p><p></p><p>The local Thieves' Guild also saw the benefits his skills could provide and employed him to enhance their bravos; such work propelled him into a semi-legitimate business that also fronts for the Guild on occasion.. Zaquin soon started his own business of Enchanters like himself, to do service around town, and is someone who will earn much influence around town.</p><p></p><p>Role playing notes: Zaquin is the puppeteer. He delights in seeing his magic change others, modify them, help them, hinder them, change them and let him have some fun watching the effects. Gifted with magics, and hundreds of years to use it, there's no need to worry about 'mortal matters' of problems. Nothing a little magic can't fix! He's capricious, and willing to help those who are willing to help him.</p><p></p><p>He is a bundle of energy; around people he is simply glowing. Chatting, teasing, flirting, conversing, and always enjoying himself. The life of the party, knowing the right things to say.</p><p></p><p>His capricious nature has made him want to take up wandering, while his business goes on in town. Can't be bored with so many things to find, places to see, and people to toy with! A lark out for adventure is sure to come along. He's made some friends through the ages, and if they are in danger, though, Zaquin will rush!in because losing someone dear is Not an enjoyable experience, and he doesn't want to be put down with the loss of someone close.</p><p></p><p>His normal mode of travel is the rickshaw kept in his portable hole, an eccentric item made for two, pulled about by any manner of things.</p><p></p><p>In combat, Zaquin is a master of buffing, protecting, and whittling the enemy down. He will slap every spell he can onto his mates and him, then take to the air. Flying? No! The rickshaw is made of very light wicker he had specially constructed. Here, a summoned Air Elemental, or an apprentice with Fly on them will speed him around the battlefield from the air, where he can survey the problem, and cast his spells when he needs them.</p></blockquote><p></p>
