The morning came quickly, with the strains of the last night still evident on the faces of most of the crowd, while a few died during the night even more people trickled in wounded and dazed. As the first light of day reflected off the light drizzle that was falling there were twenty-five townspeople along with the eight heroes that had seen most of them through the night. Considering the events of the night before the spirits were relatively high. Most of the villagers wanted to wait out the invasion, at least for a while before abandoning their homeland. Two traders Johnna and Jammeda Bjornson volunteered to make the near forty mile journey to Longshadow the closest major city to see if there was any word on this attack and to see how widespread it was. Raux stepped up and volunteered to journey to the capital, Tamran. The journey would be a long and demanding trek through the forest, but Raux thought he would be able to make it the quickest by himself. Vane, Rhyna, Jet, and even to most people’s surprise Kining talked about the importance of working together and staying strong through these trying times. Finally Aubrin stood up, looking quite a bit fresher than she did last night, “I know we have all been through a lot, and you all showed a lot of courage last night, and you’ve shown just as much courage today pledging to stick together as a town and not let these black blooded bastards break your spirit.” “I’d like to thank Johnna and Jammeda for taking the risk of journeying to Longshadow, and I’d like to likewise thank Raux for taking the very dangerous trek back to the capital.
