The secrets to dating one of the "mythical" gaming girl is 1) be proud to be a gamer. if you have an online profile, state it in there. Women that look down on gamers will stay away. When you discuss, "What do you do for fun?" You answer confidently, "I play role playing games." If you play D&D say so. Don't be shy or timid or like you're seeing approval. Women (and men too) like confidence. If you're proud to be who you are, that is a turn-on. Plan and simple, and 2) don't settle for women that just "tolerate" your "hobby." In the long run, if you date someone that you enjoy your past time with, that is something the two of you can do together. If she just tolerates it, eventually she'll either feel that she is competing for your time with it and will work (subtley or overtly) to get you to spend less and less time role playing. If she understands that you have your pastime and can respect that, then no worries. Storytime: Last nongamer girl I dated, my gaming group had a party. Non-game related, just a time for us all to hang out, having fun doing other stuff and bring the girlfriends. My girlfriend and one of the other girlfriends met at that party. They went off and discussed how do they get us away from the role playing game. I kid you not, these were some of their ideas they came up with and later tried (one of the other GFs over heard this and later told us about it): 1) More sex and better sex if we don't go to game. As in they would plan a "spontanious" weekend of staying in bed and do things they would not normally do and all we had to do was not goto game. Sounds tempting, yes? Disclaimer: Most women don't resort to this level of manipulation, but if she doesn't respect your hobby or views it as a threat, she'll try something. I will be honest: You will date less, but you'll be happier with someone you share this pasttime with. END THREADJACK
