Is a repeating xbow a "mundaine" item

My players are dead set on buying one of them. And there headed for a city that is plenty big enough to have one "if" they are avialable.
My question is... would they be available ?

Yes they are mundane. But that doesn't mean they are availible. That's a higher level of tech that might not exist for the world you game in. Also, it is an exoptic weapon that doesn't have to be availible. So, it's really up to you. Do you want them in your game? You could make them a special order item and make them more expensive.

Remember: Your the DM. It's your game. You can make these things magical if you want. You can make them not exotic weapons. They could be common items every warrior is trained in.

The repeating crossbow (or Dokyu I think) wasn't all that uncommon in ancient China... during its era. If you dont have a problem with bows and Mighty bows it shouldn't cause a problem for you. Just charge more.

You could also have mighty repeating crossbows with ever increasing price tags, what self respecting player wouldn't get Poke' fever and try and collect them all.

If one of my players wanted a special item like the repeating crossbow I'd give it to him. I'd give him a magical one. I mean if he wants it why not?

Of course I'd give the weapon some additional properties. Some properties would be added for role-playing purposes and some I'd add to use as adventure hooks later on.

Daikyu is a japanese great bow. If I remember correctly, chukuno (sp?) is the chinese repeating crossbow.

The Chinese repeating crossbow is a Chu-Ko-Nu. (That does look oddly Japanese though, doesn't it?)

And, again, the Daikyu is the Japanese great bow, the giant, asymmetrical, composite bow that a samurai could use from horseback.
