Is a storm coming RE: skills and feats?

The problem here is not the a la carte option. The problem is that some skills are just plain better than others. That is what needs to be fixed.

I have seen people claim that Profession Lore and Heraldry Lore (I really dislike the latter name and hope it is changed) are worthless and traps. Granted certain professions might be harder than others to justify. However, for many campaigns, Heraldry Lore and many profession lores are very valuable skills and can be more important than many other skills or even combat ability.

Agreed. Proffesional Lore (Sailor) in a campaign with a dose of nautical exploration would be very useful. It really comes down to the dm and players being clear on what sort of campaign they are gonna be in so they can make informed choices.

I suspect the physical skills got removed from this version because of the changes to rogue Skill Mastery: it's okay if rogues are the best at sneaky skills and social skills, but making them (potentially) the best at every physical endeavor without needing stats to back it up was probably too much. (The rogue has memorized so many books that he can spout out more Forbidden Lore than the more-intelligent wizard? Ok, fine, whatever. The rogue can "train" to be an Olympic-class swimmer without budging his Con score from 6? Nope.)

So one more way rolling back the Skill Mastery changes will make the world a better place. ;)
