Lol. I knew putting up that disclaimer would be a waste of time. :) It was a honest question though. Direct maybe, but honest. I'm not some enemy of yours. Hell, i just playtested/proofread one of your PDFs last week!! But that doesn't mean i won't call them like i see them. I wasn't sure of your motives. So i asked. Well we just disagree. Tons and tons of free OGC has been released by companeis, fans, websites, etc. You as well. I haven't much negative effects from it. In fact, i've seen much positive effect from it on the hobby. So has WOTC and publishers like yourself, in fact. I don't see this point as valid. At all. So does that mean its okay if Cergorach decides to sell the product then? Well they knew by releasing it as OGC it might well happen. So they DID make the choice. By not releasing it as SRD they are basically saying "Do it yourself if you want to". I'm QUITE sure that if the suits at WOTC thought releasing the book as OGC was going to hurt them....they sure as heck wouldn't have done it! Regardless of even that, you don't GIVE someone a license to do something if you don't want them to actually do it. Or at least doesn't expect many people feel sorry for you. Well, so far the only real claim i can sift from all the arguements (not just yours Phil) is that people are just kinda honked of that he doesn't plan to charge for it. Amazing. He plans on creating something that will require a LOT of work to do (unless he has 'Super OCR/Scan FU') and then, when he has waited long enough to avoid hurting theoretical sales, he plans on giving it to us for free. String him up! He'll destroy the OGL community! D&D will go out of business! The D20 community will fold or quit! Everyone will go back to hording their oh-so-wonderful treasures! I doubt all that severely. I'd add a few other thoughts i have, but they WOULD be darned snarky. So i'll just eat them instead. :) In fact i probably shouldn't have posted that last sentence...naner, naner! :p
