Message: <blockquote data-quote="ledded" data-source="post: 1527452" data-attributes="member: 12744">Oh, do so, but make sure that the PC understands what may come of it beforehand.  Personally, I would have the NPC give the PC a sound thrashing, taunting and insulting him the whole while, until he disabled (but did not kill) him.  It will teach the PC a lesson while creating an NPC that your players will truly hate later, something that can be a lot of fun to play with, without downright killing the PC in question. I remember during a 3E D&d campaign, I introduced a new character to a campaign who was a 2nd level dwarven cleric.  The groups insanely strong 4th level human barbarian took to taunting and insulting said cleric for quite some time, who (after taking the DM aside and seeing if he was ok with it) threw up his fists and said " 'ats enough laddie, yer takin' yer medicine now boyo". The barbarian laughed until the second round, when the dwarf dove at him head-first and headbutted him in the giblits for max damage on a crit, and he passed out cold. Sometimes a potential bully gets what they deserve  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />.</blockquote>
