If you decide to take Weapon Focus, Specialization, and the Greater WF/WS feats, you've invested a large chunk of resources into a single type of weapon without the ability to apply them to anything else you find. A similar problem occurs with archery, which you need to spend a lot of feats on in order to be functional.
