[QUOTE="jester47, post: 1739062, member: 2238"] It think GL is trying to dilute SW. Between the time Jedi and Menace first hit theaters, SW had gotten a more and more rabid fan response. And it was only getting wose. I am sure he had to deal with some really "interesting" people in that time. So he decides he is going to make 3 more movies to dilute the rabid fanbase with more mainstream folks. However, if it does not work, then he has 3 more movies to dilute the fanbase with. I really think that is what he is doing. I think he thinks SW was a little too cool, and so he is making it less cool and more watered down. Depending on how epIII goes, I might just use EpIII as the prequel to the trilogy. (and dangit HAN SHOT FIRST! you are diluting the character GL...) I mean what background does the first two movies really give us? Ep I: How they found Anakin and why they trained him (Qui Gon's last wish). EpII: How the clone wars started and how Luke and Leias parents fell in love. But in the classic tilogy all we really want to know is how did luke get to the farm, how did vader come to be, how did the emperor become the emperor rather than just chancellor? All this gets answered in Ep III. The first two are just set ups for the third, and with the scrolling words at the front and the simplicity of the characters, we really don't need them. IMO. Aaron.
