Is the EN World NWN server newbie-friendly?

Incredibly.

As a long time NWN owner, I was always intimidated about going online. It seemed overwhelming, stepping into a world I did not know, with people you don't know, and finding your way around.

Well, since the folks here at ENWorld are so great, I've had nothing but good experiences at the server! Try it out a bit; and do try to play when other people are about. It's a real nice community out there!

And if you already have the game, it's not like you've really lost anything trying out the server, right? : )

I'd like to think that it's extremely friendly to new people. There's plenty for low-level people to do, and everyone is very friendly and helpful (even the Epic Level characters who have been around for a while).

The EN World server was also my first NWN on-line experience. It's been an extremely positive one.

My first character (Kebur Brunn) is now level 23, but I've recently created a new character (Aliah) to play with a friend who's just starting.

I think the PCs' levels are spread out nicely enough that you can usually find someone within your level range to adventure with (under the module rules, you have to be within 4 levels of the highest-level PC in your party or it's called leeching and you automatically won't get any XP).

Going from solo play to on-line play, the thing you'll probably miss the most is the ability to pause! ;)
The module will get you to level 2 (or 3 for wizards, sorcerers and rogues), so this helps your survival chances.

You can get more info in some of the threads in my sig.
If you see me in town, come talk to me and I'll show you around town. :)

Oh and Morrus, Epic characters don't have an inflated ego because they still get their behind kicked routinely!

Thanks. I just picked up NWN Platinum today (which is on sale at Circuit City for $29.99 this week), so I hope to start playing online soon.
