I was wondering if I were pricing this appropriately. It's a weapon, well a pair of swords, a player of mine wants to wield. I'd appreciate anyone giving me input on either costs or better ways to implement the ideas. Thanks. The Swords of Heaven This pair of matching blades was forged of cold iron by for use by the celestial host in preparation for a great attack on the Abyss itself. They were lost in battle, and somehow got to your hands. When separated, each sword is only barely intelligent, able to convey only vague urges and emotions to its wielder. Each blade is considered to have Int 12, Wis 12, Cha 12, and Ego 7. They can hear and see to 30’ (normal vision), and understand Common and Celestial. Even in this deteriorated state, each functions as a +1 holy cold-iron sword. The first blade can bless its wielder (and only the wielder) 3/day, while the second can likewise cast protection from evil 3/day on the wielder. They can both shed light at will. Each blade can sense the direction to the other as long as they are on the same plane. All these effects are at caster level 10. When they are wielded by the same person, however, they gain their true strength and form a single, more powerful, entity. This entity can speak, and can communicate telepathically with the wielder, and hear and use darkvision to 120’. It has Int 21, Wis 17, Cha 10, and Ego 21. Each blade gains the demon-bane special ability. The entity can cast bless (affecting allies as normal) or magic circle against evil at will, both centered on the wielder. Furthermore, as their dedicated power they can engulf their wielder in a holy aura 1/day. (Even if their wielder bests their Ego, he cannot use this power – only they can.) Their magic is so potent that the swords can now shed daylight instead of light. All these effects are at caster level 20. Cost: By itself, each sword merits a market price of 22,500 gp. When wielded together, the blades total worth is approximately 150,000 gp. They would be worth 100,000 gp without the holy aura power; their ego will also drop to 17. Cost Breakdown: For individual sword: 620 cold-iron shortsword + 18,000 for +3 equivalent enchantment +2,000 cold iron extra enchantment cost + 1,000 lower intelligence + 1,000 lesser power = 22,260. For both together: 9,000 (base intelligence) +50,400 (holy aura 1/day command word) +16,000 (magic circle against evil) +11,000 (?? bless) +63,000 ("two +4" swords) = 149,400 gp
