D&D 5E is this a good damage?

Anyway.

No matter what calculations we make, I think the interesting thing about this is that the only sort of damage-optimizing that this fighter has is Sharpshooter, and on top of that there's very little other opportunity for a 5th level archer battlemaster to optimize.

So I'm gonna say that I think your fighter has good damage. May the dice be with you.

Maybe I'm missing something, but with Action Surge, cannot a 5th level fighter get up to 6 attacks? Two base attacks, doubled for Action Surge, then (possibly) an attack as a bonus action, and also a reaction? Assuming the Fighter has taken Sharpshooter and Martial Adept, she can add one die to each of five attacks.

So for Dex 16 you get a base of d8 (weapon) +3 (Dex) + 10 (Sharpshooter) + d8 (Battlemaster) or 2d8+13 for a min of 15 and max of 29. Expending all maneuvers and Action surge gives you x5 for 75 / 145, plus your last attack of only 14 / 21 (no BM die) for a total minimum of 89 and a total maximum of 166 as a one-round nova.

It's not relevant to the OP's archer but the Sweeping Attack maneuver (among others) and Great Weapon Master allow you to do even more damage:

Take a 5th level fighter with GWM and MA and Str 16. All maneuvers are Sweeping Attack. Base damage is 1d12 (Greataxe) +3 (Str) +10 (GWM) or 1d12 +13 so 14-25. +1d8 for Sweeping Attack so 15-33. x4 for 5th level and Action Surge, so 60-132. Then a bonus action from GWM for having critted or killed a target for another 14-25, plus Sweeping attack again so 75-165, plus the Reaction (we're out of BM dice) for 14-25 or a total of 89-190. At 6th level the fighter can take Martial Adept again and add another 1d8 damage, getting 90-198 HP damage.

That's all assuming everyone hits every time.
