is this something the leadership feat could do or something else?

I have this idea for a very delightful character trick

now then everyone has seen the cool ninja trick in every anime ninja movie / video game whatever where a single NINJA splits into 5 identical "shadow" ninjas
now my idea is this.... my character has about 3 or 4 other guys that follow him around fanatically and do ANYTHING he tells them to until death. the catch is...they all look EXACTLY like the character.. perhaps naturally but most likly thru magical means. high level glammer or something. and only a super high spot check or dispel magic drops the illusion.
otherwise anyone fighting the person will NOT be able to distinguish who is the player and who is the CLONE (well call them clones for now) . and if the main person is a lvl 8 fighter the clones might be lvl 3 or 4) something like that..

now this is my plan. 1 they all wear cloaks to conceal their identity. then when the characters get into a fight or confrontation or other high risk encounter.
the CLONES drop their cloaks and line up next to the main guy. ...immediatly the opposing party would most likly be confused by the simple trick. and they would have no way to determine the actual REAL player. thus giving the player the advantage while most of the time the CLONES would be getting the punishment and even dying. while the main character uses the extra HIMS to his best tactical advantage. ......so what do you think...its got that COOl factor to it. you know.

now how do i get the clones to agree to this.....is this a leadership feat? or is it something a mindbender could do?

No, this is not something the leadership feat can do. Leadership allows you to gather loyal followers, not stupid, suicidal ones!

A mindbender could probably pull it off given enough time, but unless you are an evil character, your DM probably wouldn't (or shouldn't) allow it.

And how exactly would you go about replacing dead sidekicks? I'd say it would be hard to recruit replacements. Particularly if they look like your character.

Umm, you might want to read the description of the Mirror Image spell. That seems to do what you want perfectly.

Except it doesn't.

He wants his mooks to actually be physical people who can attack/hurt you. Not just a passive defense.

Have you considered Psionics as the answer? You can play an Egoist, take one feat at 3rd level (Expanded Knowledge - Mindlink), but otherwise be a self-buffing melee trickster.

Maybe some Monk levels are in order. Let me see...

1/ Monk 1 (Kung Fu Genius -- int to AC instead of Wisdom, Improved Initiative)
2/ Monk 2
3/ Monk 2 / Egoist 1 (Psionic Fist, Psionic Body)
4/ Monk 2 / Egoist 2 +1 Int
5/ Monk 2 / Egoist 3
6/ Monk 2 / Egoist 4 (Expanded Knowledge - Mindlink)
7/ Monk 2 / Egoist 5 (Psionic Meditation)
8/ Monk 2 / Egoist 6 +1 Int
9/ M2 / E6 / Thrallherd 1 (Greater Psionic Fist)
10+/ more Thrallherd

Few people get as many disposable buddies as a Thrallherd. ;)

However, casting a mirror image would be the perfect signal for the mooks to drop the cloaks and start attacking. Plus, it would be very great.

"Oh, he cast mirror image, what a boor. Strike one image, strike two, strike three... Ah, this one doesn't disappear! It's the real guy! What? This other just hurt me?"
