I have so many stories to share. I missed out on the earlier thread entirely. Now that the ball is rolling, I will share another. When I moved to South Carolina from New Jersey at age 10, we moved into an older mobile home. The floor in the back hallway was just carpet over rotted out plywood. You sank if you walked in the middle. In my parents' bedroom, there was a HUGE hole in the floor. All the way through. They put a piece of plywood over it and put the bed on top of that. It was temporary, as they had to find a place fast. We were only there for two years, but had our share of strange occurrences there. First, my older brother (9 years older) slept in the back bedroom, I was in the next, separated from his room by a bathroom and then the kitchen, living room and my parents' bed room up front. One night he was in bed and he felt what he thought was our dog (a small poodle) jump up on the bed. He let it under the covers with him and discovered as it climbed on his chest that it was not our dog. He said it was much heavier. As it crawled under the blankets, he looked up and saw the blankets hovering a few feet above him and no animal on his chest. He told us that he struggle to throw it off of him. We were all awakend as he ran up the rotten-floored hallway at full speed, screaming. We sat up the rest of that night in the living room, the whole family. A few months later (6 or 8?), I was in my small bedroom with the dog on the bed with me. My bedroom was closet sized, with a little alcove near the head of my bed that conatined my dresser and enough room to open the drawers. I was going to be running my third or fourth session of D&D the next day and was thinking about what I wanted to do. I was planning a particularly nasty trap for the PC's when I heard a voice from the alcove. The voice spoke clearly. "Don't do it." The dog jumped straight up and went crazy barking, snarling and snapping at the alcove. She backed up right against me with teeth bared, foaming and otherwise in full freakout mode. I started screaming for my parents and they came in and turned on the light. The dog ran out of the room at full speed. Eventually, my parents bought a new mobile home. We planned on pulling the old one out and moving the new one right into its place. When moving day came, rain started pouring down incredibly hard. It rained for hours. We secured everything and prepared for the removal of the house. Late that morning, I smelled smoke, then saw smoke. I ran outside and looked under the front porch. The insulation under the porch floor (a 10' x 20' screened porch) was burning. I climbed under with an extinguisher and put it out. When the truck came to pull out the house at about 2pm, it sunk in the mud in front of the house. A neighbor had a large 4-wheel drive jeep and hooked up to the front of the truck and worked quite some time to pull it free. Our new house sat out in the street for hours while we worked to get the old house out. Eventually, it was removed and we moved into our new house. Again, this is only one of many strange things I have experienced. I will post my UFO story next time I get a chance. I had a "psychic" once tell me that I was very receptive to the paranormal and that I had many spirits around me. My wife is totally freaked out by paranormal stuff and used to be sure it was a figment of the imagination, but she has seen much over the last 15 years herself while with me. DM
