Message: <blockquote data-quote="Benben" data-source="post: 1949895" data-attributes="member: 110">I've been thinking of doing something similar since Races of Stone came out.  The Goliaths certainly have enough backstory, which frankly is the advantage of having 1/3 of a book dedicated to them.  I have yet to read the fully story on the Ilumians, but I think they would make a great spooky arcane oriented class.  I'm also looking forward to the foreign mindset of the Raptorans.  Overall I think WotC is doing a good thing by introducing races with full backgrounds and rich cultures.   Doing a humans + new races quick campaign would be a good Sword and Sorcery campaign.  The Goliaths fill the traditional barbarian role, the Ilumians reak of 60s plane hopping weirdness, and the Raptorans have a great pulp feel to them. But verily the names all stink as much as "halflings" does.</blockquote>
