I've got a couple of funny pet stories to share. I have a purebred black lab. When I first got her, she was two and had been kept in a cage for much of her life. Anyways, she thought that she was a lap dog, and I was only around 7, so she was about as big as me (she was the runt of the litter). I think my legs are still bent. A couple years ago, one of my younger brothers procured an Australian shepherd(Sp?). Cutest animal ever, and usually quite bright. However, the first time my whole family left home for a trip, we locked her in one room. We had to come back for some reason, and when I went inside I heard "Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf! *thunk* Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf! *thunk* Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf! *thunk* The dog was barking her head off and charging the door headfirst. It was amazing. EDIT: My cats sit on books too. And they like to stare out windows at birds. And torment our dogs. Last year, one of my multitudinous siblings was giving the cats treats, and the aforementioned Aussie investigated. They all jumped her at the same time and drove her down the stairs quite literally screaming. She would've had her tail between her legs, 'cept Aussies don't have tails :) I don't think she's recovered yet.
