Zenith Starling the Grey Paladin 5 human. Calypso wizard 5 elf. Sir Roland Cloudcrest Human 4. Dagon Fighter 5 Human.The group come in from Tibor’s trail see a straight side. Mayor Harbin Wester is in a scold cage. Think parrot cage for humans. A sign reads, “Misappropriated Town Funds.”Harbin, “Friends. Friends. I see you have defeat the evil banshees on the coast. Could you do me a solid. Pay my fine and get me cut loose.” And a mumble of “Murder my brother”.Zenith, “So you could not handle the books. Good rot in this cage until you die.”Harbin, “But I cut you a deal on the land. The council got mad at that. And I waived your taxes. They got mad at that.”Calypso, “You agree to it. On your own. With no influence.” Mumble “Of no magic.”Harbin, “they are also mad, I reward you too much. You talked me into a higher reward.”Sir Roland, “You agreed to it. With no influence.”Harbin, “But you would have killed me if I reneged on the price.”Most voices, “No we wouldn’t.”Single voice, “In a heartbeat.”Harbin, “My brother took over the job as mayor. And he wants to see you.”As they approach the town master hall Nib Addlespur watches them with freaky eyes. “The cannibals are back. Professor gone and eaten. Virt gone and eaten. I saw you talking to the former mayor are you going to eat him. Like the other people you hang out with?”Calypso, “We haven’t eaten any one, little girl.”Nib, “Then where did the adventurers go. Sir Roland the Smelly Old Fart is putting on weight. Zenith Salad the Grey has extra muscles. Must be getting a lot of protein.”Voice, “Well, I have eaten my date. Hey DM Glare activated.”The party moves on and notices most of locks have been removed from the door. They knock and are told to come in. Tibor Webster, “Which of you sign the contract for the stables? You didn’t submit a floor plan. And no way is the town going to allow that. The land fee is two gold per year. And five percent of income per month. You need to officially break ground this week. Get with Sister Garaele to bless the property.”Sir Roland, “I will pay for you my dear young whippersnapper.”Zenith, “I will have your layout by Friday.”The next quests are checking out the Butterskull Ranch and Shire of Savras. One of the hands of the ranch made into town last night and is sleeping in the Sleeping Giant inn.Marvin, “The Geronimo tribe attacked with dozens the ranch. Me, Lou, and three others tried to make it out but only I made it. Big AL may have made out.”Tibor, “I can only give the group 25 GP for this.”Calypso. “There is a third digit you are covering up.”Tibor, “Okay if Big AL is dead, and you bring proof of it to me, the reward is 100 GP. But this not a license to murder hobo him.”Three days later, the group arrives at the orchard. The barn, smithy, outhouse, are destroyed. A cow is giving them the evil eye and will not let them approach. They see two orcs coming out the barn on wood cutting detail. Sir Roland lightning bolts them. And the party splits. Sir Roland and Zenith will check out the barn. The other two will check out house.Sir Roland slips into the barn and sneaks up on the two orcs butchering the hired hands. Two and a half bodies are hanging from meat hooks, and some body parts are being chopped up for hamburger. The fighters attack.Meanwhile Dagon, and Calypso smell something boiling in the house. They open the door and surprise an orc chief and his help. Hypnotic pattern is casted locking them down. Dagon starts chopping up orcs.Sir Roland, “Well these foul orcs are dead, and it appears combat has started in the main house without us. That is very rude. Onward my find horse. Hey that is cheating paladin. No Pokémon horses are allowed.” The mule and spectral horses charge the house.Orcs are coming down both staircases and into the kitchen of their doom. The final orc falls, and the group does a loot sweep. Finding some nice chain mail, and the ranch’s payroll they pocket it. In the root cellar, they find and release Big AL who is upset that some the orcs stole the payroll and his mail shirt. He knows they when toward the Shire of Savras.The next day around noon the group attacks the Orc conclave. Surprise the orcs have some ogre backups. But the good guys win. On the way back to town they see Cryovain fly over.Arriving in town, the mayor house has been destroyed and the Webster brothers are dead. Cryovain paid a visit the day before and was hungry. Sister Garaele is the new temporary mayor, she is trying to find the tax books, and other paperwork.
