Zephron Starwarden twilight cleric 10. Geromino Path of the Wild Barbarian 10 Half-orc.After taking a short nest, the group move with the flow of water. Coming up behind them is a group of Kuo-toa. Ember and Zephron notice a cloud of ink tried to invade their hide out from the down stream side but the flow washed it back. The fight is a nice warm up but both Ember and Zephron feel a tickling on their brain as if someone is fingering the files of their memories. The fish people switch targets and focus on Ember who is dragged into the water, she fights of one who tries to steal her purse (bag of holding), it flees and is killed.They follow the body as it washes downstream. As they enter a huge cavern from the east, they see a small island with a glowing ball on it. It sparkles dully as if waiting on something. On the west side is a set of stone stairs leading out the water. The stairwell is unlit. The water is clear for the first ten feet, then nasty.Zephron, “What about the freaking five head hydra squeezing through the north passageway?”The hydra had been summoned by the bbeg who yet is to appear on the scene. The hydra who was happy playing with his ship wrecks was a little put out and off his feed. He was not happy as he had been planning on rearranging the ship wrecks today, but duty and the evil bad guy/Zephron, “I rolled a 23 for initiative dm.”The rude players not wanting atmosphere or great descriptions wanted to fight. Muse, “Have you read your writing?” Most of the players dash toward the hydra with Geronimo and Liu Fang getting some licks in. Unnoticed Ember is snatched from the boat and pulled under the water into the murky part by something.Zephron, “Banishment! Hey were did Ember go?”Liu fang, “She didn’t back track because the ice mephitis and one-eye bob are coming from that direction! Fist of Fireball. Minor League. Okay only half of them are still alive.”Geronimo, “I swim to the bottom and check.” As she does two chuuls attack her, with a successful grabble they move here off her chosen path.Zephron, “We have lost two people in two rounds. This doesn’t look good.”Yngukulub the Devourer, “Ember, will you marry me?”Failing her charm save, Ember shouts, “Yes. Yes. You tentacle daddy. Just don’t be looking at other women, or anyone else. It is my purse and my trident!”Yngukulub the Devourer, “Well actually I need the trident to summon the priest to marry us. And it is actually Philip’s purse but they didn’t show up today.” Ember hands over the purse and Yngukulub the Devourer climbs out the water. “NOW I summon the priest to marry me and Ember.” He thrusts the trident into the slot and the orb begins to power up. Zephron and Liu pout a little as they had not been invited to be in the ceremony. The three adventurers focus on the targets they can see.Yngukulub the Devourer reels Ember out the water, just as Geronimo finishes off her crabs. She swims to the surface and attacks!Ember, “Hands off my man. Honey, do you need some healing. And where are we going on our honeymoon? And I am getting weak in the knees just seeing you.”Yngukulub the Devourer, “That is because I am sucking your life force from you and giving you special hugs!”Ember, “I am cool with that to die in my man’s arms um tentacles. Why is getting dark? Are you killing me? I hate you?” She fades to black as her life force is gone.Zephron, “healing word!”Yngukulub the Devourer, “Fine do you love me Geronimo? YOU do? Beat the naughty word out my former bride Ember!” Ember comes out her trance and grabs the trident, she is confused. She remembers loving the aboleth but the orb has powered up and the water is flowing in from the elemental plane.Ember, “What should I do? Attack the aboleth?”Geronimo, “Keep you spells off my man, aberration! I hate hold person. But lucky I go next! Ha 22 wisdom save. Suck sword!”DM, “Ember give me religion or arcane check. Barbarian saves are at the end of round. With a 17 you know if the summoning item is on another plane the summoning will stop.”Liu Feng punches the groom and Zephron flame strikes both the groom and best man aka the roper. Ember tosses Drown into the Elemental Plane of Water destroying the portal.Yngukulub the Devourer, and Geronimo, “Bitch!” and the switch targets to Liu. Liu is hit and reeled down to the roper. The water clears. Crystal clear. All targets become clear.Zephron, “Divine short rest. Every heal up and reset!”Monsters, “naughty word!” Liu punches out the roper. And everyone tries to rope a dope with the Devourer but he keeps sucking up life energy from Ember or Geronimo. The Aboleth drops.Group, “We won!”DM, “That roar you hear is the hydra finally returning after then rounds. He hits Geronimo for 50.” The hydra finally drops. With the Aboleth and most of the monsters dead the group spends the rest of day looting and washing up.DM Notes. We pick this up in the transfer node.
