I agree with you completely. Although I greatly enjoyed Batman Beyond, I always had issues with how so many of the classic elements of the character were removed. From the cape to the absence of some of his bigger enemies, the show also revealed that Wayne was a lonely, bitter, old codger. While I definitely see Wayne as lonely and an old codger, I've never perceived him as particularly bitter. Difficult to deal with, sure; not much for maintaining friendships, absolutely. But utterly alone because he's so bitter, not at all. Plus, the idea that The Joker's permanently dead? As I already said, I think that the existence of The Joker in three Justice League episodes suggests that he need not necessarily be permanently gone. Still, I loved that episode. You know, I wonder if we're ever going to see the following: 1. The return of Dick Grayson: What the hell happened to Nightwing. The whole situation with the Teen Titans throws a wrench in the development of Grayson's character. We know that to one degree or another, elements of the DC continuity exists in TT (remember when Slade forces Robin to go rogue and steal from some company? He was stealing from something with "Wayne" in it). How strong or weak is this connection? Teen Titans and The Justice League: Speaking of Teen Titans, will there ever be a cross-over with JL? Should there be? TT seems essentially a stand alone thing aside from occasional visual suggestions to the contrary... I mean, Trigun shows up and decimates the entire planet and only a bunch of teen agers are left to save the day? Well, I suppose this is okay since it happens routinely in comics, but I wonder if there should or can be a connection. 3. Static: This show was a fairly fun show that I managed to see most of on Cartoon Network. It also featured many episodes with The Batman, at least one with Superman, and at least two with the Justice League (sans Superman and Wonder Woman). There was also the one set in the time of Batman Beyond. According to "The Past and Future Thing," Static is one of the heroes that fight the Time Master's goons (from Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker). So, what's his story?
