Joss Whedon auctions himself on eBay

... I feel like this auction is actually against eBay policy, but I can't find it anywhere. I could've sworn selling "people" (even yourself) was against policy, but I don't see where it's written.

I recall, that there has been a case here in germany, where a group of girls auctioned themselves off together with some beer for a party (not that kind of party). The auction was won by a marketing company for some five digit bid. The follow-up auction by another group trying the same then burst through ebay's auction cap of one million or whatever it is; it was totally ridiculous (and certainly not actual bids, but just some bidders having 'fun'). It was on TV even.

I think after that incident, they forbid auctions like that, before things got worse.

I suppose, Joss has asked for a special permission to do this, since it's certainly not questionable by intent or anything else.
