Joys of WoTC retail store

I went into a local Wizard retail establishment to see if the Fiend Folio had come out yet. The clerk-boy was on the phone with the "manager" and when I asked him if he knew when they would be receiving it, he asked the manager who (i'm assuming) replied that "well, with the 3.5 revision coming out we dont think we will be receiving any new books until that comes out." WTF?

You should introduce him to a helpful website: www.wizards.com/catalog (I think that's the address for their product catalog).

Hmmm...I used to work at a Gamekeeper store(which is owned and operated by Wizards)...and that seems odd to me....since we're talking a 3 month delay. I wouldnt think even WotC Retail could be THAT stupid.
Although I've also heard (from a former co worker) that they are no longer going to carry non-wizards RPG stuff so I guess any stupidity is possible...

The street date for the Fiend Folio is, IIRC, April 11. This friday.

What Tarek said. The 11th is also the street date for the Star Wars: Ultimate Alien Anthology.

Btw, the street date for the revised core rulebooks is July 11th which is also a Friday. I'm very glad they're releasing the corebooks before Gencon!

then again I could be wrong. I got the date from a friend at barnes and nobles who checked the stores comp. He gets me the stuff (or anything with an ISBN #) for 30% off.
