Character: Xane ('Zane') McMurdo. It was suggested that about the only thing I haven't played in some time was either a private investigator or a scumbag. So I chose scumbag. Xane's a wealthy guy, not even 25, who makes his living through post-producing and distributing bootleg CD's, DVDs and underground media, with a little drug dealing on the side. He's pulling down close to $200,000.00 a year; it would be a lot more than that but he 'tries to keep his hands clean'; he facilitates deals, is the ultimate middle-man. He knows where to find people that have what you need, never mind what (or who) it is. He's deep in the Mexican and Chinese bootleg markets (The Mexican bootleg music market has almost totally destroyed the legitimate channels of distribution in that country . Xane's the one selling them CD towers and untraceable network connections <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" /> ).Xane is, primarily, a liar. He lies to everyone, even himself (most especially himself, actually). Coming into contact with the supernatural only confirmed what Xane had always suspected: that the world itself was a lie. Now he's finding out what truth is, and it hasn't been a nice ride. Probably the first time I've played a guy that's a borderline psychopath (he has a sense of right and wrong, but he's able to justify things so totally in his mind that it really makes no difference). But, he's dead now; died his final death last session after stepping into a wrong angle and coming out five hours later looking like hamburger. Not really sure what I'm going to do. The game has quickly evolved from the promised 'magic in the modern world' game to 'Call of Cthulhu' which, while I do love that game, wasn't what I wanted to play this time around. Not at all. So..
