Jungle Based Animal Companions

I'm looking for an animal companion for a druid based out of Sasserine (we're doing Savage Tides). My character is an Aventi who's spent a lot of time in the jungles surrounding Sasserine. She's a 1st level fighter, 3rd level druid. If possible, please help me with stats and/or book references.

Toad, Lizard, Snake, Rat, Bat, Cat: use as-is

EDIT: Oooops, those are Familiars. I should learn to read, huh?


Okay, animal companions: Dog, Eagle, and Medium Viper would be appropriate. More jungle-y animal companions are just around the corner, though: Ape and Panther are available at 4th level.

Hi,

In my Pirates of the Caribbean game there's a ranger PC who is at the right level to have his first animal companion. They're in the jungle at the moment and I've described lots of animals that he could befriend: parrots, monkeys, anhinghas, caymans, even a flying snake! He took no notice whatsoever but did try and chat up a needletooth dinosaur (a la compys in Jurassic Park 2). Cue needletooth swarm attack! I give up, I really do.

I think I'm gonna go with the leopard...after a rather heated discussion with my dm (neither of has had coffee yet this morning...I couldn't frame the question clearly and he didn't know what I was driving at), we have determined that shortly after I hit 5th level (4th level druid), I'll be able to take the required 24 hours to find a leopard in the jungle.
