Just a little question by an italian guys...

So please be patient with me.
I have a little project, maybe it can be considered a dream (maybe because i didn't started to work on it yet and i need some practice on program languages to start it), but is not impossible.
I'd like to make an MMORPG 2d, or maybe isometric, with a turn-based combat system that follows d20 rules... something more connected to interpretation and player's role than DDO:Stormreach, of course with the class, skills, feats and spell rules of the original d20 system (maybe limited to the first levels, just to make it more realistic and don't have to get mad with all the spells...).

Now comes the legal question... i have to use the d20 system license to do it? If it is free, i have to follow some rules or laws to make it?

You cannot use the d20 System Trademark License with your MMORPG project since that would be considered an "Interactive Game" by definition in the Trademark Usage Guide v5.0.

To do that, you will need a separate exclusive licensing agreement. The hitch is that Atari/Vivendi is the current exclusive licensee for D&D elecronic products.

Your other option is to use the Open Game License, but even that license is being debated for use with computer software.

sob...
ok... let's just change the game system XD
It could have been a good idea... just let me work on it.
Thanks for your care. Bye :)
