I've got to add some estrogen to this discussion! :D How geeky am I? I spend an inordinate amount of time on this forum. :p I'm currently wearing a One Ring replica on a chain around my neck - openly, too, not hiding it under my blouse. I don't wear it every day, but I do wear it at least once a week. I game at least once a week. I think about gaming quite a lot when I'm not actually playing. I design campaign settings for fun. I paint miniatures as a hobby. I have never painted just one mini for a PC and then stuck with that same mini throughout an entire campaign. In one instance I painted at least 8 different figures for one character. I attend a sci-fi/fantasy convention annually here in Portland, and when I can afford it I will go to other conventions in other cities. I've been to several Star Trek cons, although I've come to the conclusion that they're too expensive for what I get out of them. My dream would be to win the lottery and travel the world attending conventions at my whim. I own a Starfleet uniform and have worn it in public (though I would not wear it for jury duty). I also own a variety of other costumes. I'm having a replica of a gown from one of the LOTR films made as my wedding gown. I read almost exclusively fantasy literature. I used to read a lot of sci-fi but don't enjoy the hard science much. I used to collect comic books until the budget got too tight. I used to collect action figures. I have a number of Marvel and DC "dolls". If the budget would permit I'd probably have a complete collection of LOTR action figures. Maybe a lot of Star Wars toys, too. I did not object to my fiancee having genre art in his house when I moved in with him. I added to the collection. :) I played M:tG for a while, and have a collection of Heresy CCG cards. I remember thinking when waiting for the first LOTR film to be released, "It would suck if I died before I got to see all 3 films". I guess I almost jinxed myself, because the following year I was diagnosed with cancer and barely was able to see the 3rd film in a theatre. I watch most genre shows on tv, and see most genre films in the theatre. I can usually tell you quite a lot about the shows I enjoy, although I'm not likely to get into an argument with you over whether Kirk was a better captain than Picard, for example. I'm teaching myself to speak Elvish. Oh, yeah - I'm 45 years old, female, not married (yet), no kids, work for an insurance company, and have two college degrees.
