Kalibruhn: The OD&D Supplement That Never Was

Well, true, but looking at the notes on Noble Knight, they aren't exactly ordered (i.e., organized). This being the case, a properly ordered document made available via OSRIC, S&W, or some other such avenue seems entirely possible. Still, I agree that it's skirting the edge of ethical practice.

Only if produced without RJK's consent, which it may be possible to obtain (if he's not planning to publish it himself already, of course).

I'll have to dig into my auction archives, but I'm pretty sure that this is one of the lots that was auctioned off by Rob c. 2006 or so via Paul Stormberg. It originally sold for substantially less than $3500 though, since Bottle City only hit $3650, and I don't recall anything else being close to that figure..

i was thinking the same thing. the letter looks exactly like the ones i got from Paul for my auction wins.

These notes differ from and appear to be the original manuscript precursor to the Supplement V typescript sold by the_collectors_trove on 9 April 2006 for $800. The typescript was 20 or 21 pages long, whereas the NK listing is for a 54 page ms. that's not in final typed form.

BUMP Wow. I discovered this (going on 12 years later) while doing research for a sequence in my novel Lake Geneva Days. Funny how many topics one can discover that discuss you and/or your works!

I particularly wish to thank Erik Mona for his "pregnant" compliment about my works as well as Allan Grohe's nice comments and guiding hand in this topic.

1) The ms notes that were on NKG were just that. I have copies of the typed version for the proposed supplement, Kalibruhn. In either case, written or typed, they are my copyrights.

2) Neither my Castle El Raja Key levels (13) nor any Kalibruhn material (including a fabulously large map of it splendidly rendered in PS by Andy Taylor) have been licensed nor are they destined for 1E production (unless some 1E outfit were to throw gazillions of bucks my way, and I don't foresee that). I am, however, open to 5E production/licensing of certain materials such as Castle El Raja Key. The remaining world part mss, including a 20 page outline and 30+ pages of character sketches for the novel,"Blackstar," are destined for mass market print or digital products and/or film development.

Once again I wish to belatedly thank everyone who participated in this thread; and yes, I do believe that the supplement's printing would have changed the course of D&D's trajectory then as I was concentrating quite heavily on Top>Down, holistic world design rather than GH's and BM's bottom>up route.
