Kara-Tur?

I see this part of Toril in the Forgotten Realms book, and remember a reference to it in BG:2 (Yoshimo), but know almost nothing about it. are there any 3E books/info sites about it?

Basically, Kara-Tur was the default OA setting for most of 1st edition and 2nd edition AD&D. The Kara-Tur boxed set detailing the setting was released by TSR (you can pick up the ESD at SV Games) in the early '90's for 2nd edition AD&D.

Thanks. so its basically just an oriental area? (which is what i thought it was, after Yoshimo). The reason i asked was to make sure something im thinking of doing for a character was right (from Faerun trained by an exile from Kara-Tur, a samurai type that settled in Faerun), and was wanting to make sure what i thought was correct

The "Unapproachable East" includes the lands of Aglarond, Rashemen, Thay, Thesk, and the Great Dale. It stops at the Hordelands which lie in-between Faerûn and Kara-Tur.

However, AFIK the Unapproachable East sourcebook will contain an entry for the FR version of Oriental Adventures' "Spirit Folk" - so we'll be getting a Kara-Turan race included.
