Usually in D&D you hear alot about 'tactics', when 'tactics' usually means, "Ok, i run in, and cleave." Any real tactics that are ever used usually fail terribly...but this character brings the idea of tactics to a new level. For you anime fans out there, this character was made with Naruto as an inspiration. Enjoy! Raised in the cold tundra of Acacia, this man, better known as Snow, has learned to take advantage of illusion and deception in comabt. By using mirror images, minor images, invisibility, ghost step, and a special training, Snow is able to take advantage of these situations. Human Levels: 6 ninja/1 sorc/3 frost mage; CR 10; Medium Humanioid; HD 6d6+6+4d4+6; Init +3; Spd 30 ft.; AC 28, touch 22, flat-footed 20 BAB: +5 Atk(or Full Attack): +9 (+2 inv, +4 AoO) melee (1d6+4, +3d6 sudden strike +1d6 con dmg black adder venom, fort. save 11, +1 short sword) Fort +5 Ref +8 Will +11 (+2 more if any ki in ki pool is left) Skills and Feats: Climb +14, Jump +14 (+18 long jump), Tumble +14, Spot +13, Listen +10, Knowledge Arcana +9 ; Frozen Magic, Combat Reflexes, Deft Opportunist (+4 to attack when making AoO), Hold the Line(Immidiate AoO on any charging foe), Close Quarters Combat(AoO on anyone attempting a grapple, even if they have improved grapple). Special: Resistant to cold 10: Snow ignores the first 10 cold damage of any cold attack. Conjure Ice Beast Snow has the knowledge to cast Conjure Ice Beast I. Ghost Step(Su): Snow can spend one daily use of his Ki power to become invisible for 1 round. Using this ability is a swift action that does not provoke an AoO. Poison Use Snow never risks poisoning himself when applying poison to a weapon. Ki Dodge Snow can shift his outline by spending one daily use of his Ki power. He is granted concealment (20% miss). This lasts for 1 round, takes a swift action, and does not provoke an AoO. TrapfindingSnow can use the search skill to find traps with a DC higher than 20 and can use Disable device to disarm and bypass magical traps. Great Leap Snow takes long jumps as if he had the run feat even if he doesn't have a running start. Ki Pool 7 per day Spells: DC 13 (6 per day, Cantrips) Detect magic Ghost Sound Read Magic Message Open/Close Flare DC 14 (6 per day, level 1) Mage Armor Disguise Self Silent Image DC 15 (3 per day, level 2) Alter Self Items: 10 vials of black adder venom Ring of Protection +5 Ring of Sustenence Scroll of Greater Invisibility Rod of Illusion Cloak of Charisma +4 Note: Feel free to add different weapons to Snow's arsenal. At bear minimum, he wears the sword sword to keep a light load at all times in case he runs into some heavy treasure that he wants to carry. Creating a more powerful Snow would definatly increase the short sword to have better powers, most likely being adamantine and with other special abilities. Scores(including all modifiers): Str 16, Dex, 16, Con 12, Wis 18, Int 12, Cha 15 Tactics: Usually, snow will lure the enemy into situations with limited visibility. A huge flat area is to his great disadvantage. Snow perfers dungeons with several corridors for a few specific reasons. First, he may (or may not) turn invisible to prep himself if needed. Mage armor, disguise self, etc. He often turns invisible and then creates a silent image of himself to fool someone into attacking the image, in the meanwhile, he either escapes or moves into position to get both an AoO and a sudden strike. He may also use ghost sound (and you thought it was useless) while invisible to draw the attention of confused attackers. If in the heat of combat, he may use his most powerful illusion, Mislead, from his Illusion staff. Sometimes he may use mislead to send an image of himself down the hallway, while he sets up simple traps to foil the enemy once he walks back into the room. Or he may use mislead and stand invisible behind the group making AoO as he goes. If vastly overwhelmed, he may set up several images of himself and/or the enemies he is fighting to kill his foes. Using his 'secret technique', Snow often summons an Ice Beast when overwhelmed. Advancement Advancing snow can be a difficult process. If he continues down the ninja path, he will need to take more direct attack feats (since simple illusion spells won't work against higher level monsters as well). If he continues more towards the spellcaster path, snow will take frost mage, increasing his AC and sorcerer levels. His feats will need to add to his attack and mobility in combat, while his spells center DIRECTLY on illusions, and SECONDARY to spells that help keep him mobile in combat. Any feats that give Snow more AoO are a definate plus for this case, and try to avoid direct assault feats (such as power attack). Tactical feats are a big plus, if you can find one that works with this character. He may also need to take some specilization feats to increase the DC of his Illusions.
