having taken a closer look at the ninja class, i have failed to understand why a ninja would activate ki dodge (the lesser form in particular). ok, you get around see invisibility. but otherwise, where's the advantage in relation to Ghost Step. am I missing anything?

Are you referring to 6th lvl ability by that name. Upon reading it I thought it was missing something, particularly the part about what type of action was to activate. Based on the wording though I assume it has to be an immediate action. As for why anyone would use it, maybe the ninja is down to a few HP and can not afford another hit until he can get some healing.
