Kingmaker Adventure Path

I just ordered this: Kingmaker

Only now I'm thinking it isn't the actual adventure/campaign, but a bunch of extremely expensive maps.

Is this the case? And if so, where can I get the actual Kingmaker Adventure Path?

That online store at least, doesn't seem to stock it.

Thanks all

EDIT: Is it available in hard copy?

I think they are a necessity. Our Kingdom building efforts and expansion wanderings have made extensive used of the Kingmaker Map folio. I would not run it without it.

We use electronic forms of the maps. For exploration I use a fog of war effect, as they explore I remove the fog of war from the exploration map to reveal the areas they have been.

On another set of maps I outline the kingdom boundaries and update as the kingdom expands.

The maps are posted in stickied threads in the forums we use for between session gaming and organization. They can be printed for the upcoming game if need be.

I am sure different methods will be successful for different groups - all depending on play style and such.

My experience with the Map Folio's has been mixed (I've bought two of them). I also use the maps electronically, so I've bought only the .pdf versions of the folios.

The Legacy of Fire Map Folio is nice, but includes only (or almost only) maps that are also in the AP itself. Since I use the e-versions, it wasn't worth it - but I don't really regret the purchase.

The Serpent's Skull Map Folio was a complete and total waste of my money (to the point that I actually complained to Paizo about it). There are only three maps, two city overviews and an overview of Smuggler's Shiv. They're pretty to look at, but almost completely worthless for game play. The value is further reduced by the fact that the scale bar on the map of Smuggler's Shiv is wrong - the map in the AP has the Shiv at about 12 miles across (East to West), the one from the Map Folio has it at just over a mile.

While I do not dispute that the older Map Folios which esentially reprinted maps from the modules were of dubious value, that is not the case with the Kingmaker Map Folio which are not mere reprints.

We have made extensive use of the map foilo for Kingmaker and I really wouldn't attempt to run the AP without it. Kingdom building and map "hexploration" in Kinmaker using those maps have been invaluable to us.

Just received my Kingmaker maps this morning, and they look good.

Definitely going to be useful
