Tom quickly realized that the man - who had himself received little training besides "thrust the pointy end towards the bad guys" before being sent off to war - could teach him little.</p><p></p><p>Tomanta's parents found several others to train Tomanta over the next few years, but could never seem to find one who knew what he was doing (perhaps since all the accomplished swordsmen were either in the army or training it - and Tomanta was still too young to join).</p><p></p><p>Tomanta was in Karrlakton when Cyre was destroyed.
