Knowledge (math) (This thread is also posted in D&D Rules forum, but was properly a mistake in first place) I'm working with the concept of knowledge (math) to my PC and got the permission to take it as a class skill due to his background. However, I don't know how to calculate the skill point and possible synergy. The idea behind the concept is my character will be able to calculate distance with trigonometri which can be used everywhere which you could get an advantage to know the precise distance e.g. on a ship to when you meet pirates, unreal seamonsters etc. How much knowledge math do you know with each skill point increased? My character got 5 ranks and 2 mod skills in math now... would he be able to use sinus, cosnius and tangens properly with pen n' paper? Some general info about the world: Style: Medival NPC average level: 3 Magic: standard rules, approximately the same as in DMG. Science/technoloigy: Low general. There is a low amount of canons and guns, very few, you will maybe find a single gun in a metropolis, if you're lucky. Math: We use goldpieces so it's just the weight they use in shops and no calculating. Just the standard from DMG/strongholdbuilder etc.. However all metropolis got about 10-20 economics and most town do pay to get one for a visit.
